WHO THE HECK IS ELROI?

There's a story in the Bible of a woman, Hagar, who is put in a terrible position, abandoned, cast out, treated as if she's meaningless. Her larger story is multi-dimensional. But to distill the chapter that relates most to ELROI—after being forced out of her home, she flees to the desert with her young son and cries out to God. In the midst of her despair, God reminds her that no matter who else does, He will care for her. She recognizes that although others abandoned her, she's not alone, without help, worthless—because He is Jehovah El Roi (ELROI)--the “One Who Sees [Her]” (God “who sees me” Genesis 16:13) and cares for her.

At times in my life, despite being inwardly confident and even outwardly accomplished—I've found myself feeling totally unseen, not enough, too much. It's something, like Hagar, that I believe a lot of us can relate to at least during some chapter in our lives.

And while we may feel alone, unseen or be experiencing “desert” in life, we can be built up with enduring hope, unshakable confidence and deep joy that no matter how much we feel we’re failing or succeeding, who appreciates and understands us or doesn't, who has rejected or accepted us, what our past has held or what we see in our future-God-the creator of the very universe and the only One who truly SEES US FULLY, LOVES US FULLY.

He sees you fully. You are seen.

He loves you fully. You’re BELOVED.

That is who EL ROI is—the One who sees, meets and loves us even, and especially, in our deserts. And that is what ELROI the brand is about—a tangible reminder that Jesus sees and loves us entirely, an encouragement to do everything we can to truly see, meet and love each other and an easy conversation opener about the unshakable life-giving love He has for each and every one of us even before we know Him or if we ever love Him back.
